Voice Lab

Amy's

Unleash your voice.

Welcome to Amy’s Voice Lab

In my studio, I believe that technical vocal skill is a means to carry the story you are telling, and that there is no singular way to do that. Amy’s Voice Lab is about experimentation and freedom to try new things with a spirit of exploration and play. Ultimately, I am your collaborator in your vocal journey, and will do all I can to help you reach your goals and uncover your most authentic sound. I primarily focus on technique and specialize in English, French, German, and Italian classical repertoire. While I primarily teach advanced classical singers, I also coach musical theater, jazz, and folk styles at all levels.

FAQs

Where are coachings held?

Online via zoom or in person in Santa Fe. Whatsapp or Facetime also work! Since I teach worldwide and often travel, online teaching works the best, and I find it to be extremely effective. All students will need to book using my online Calendly link, which generates a zoom link. If we are meeting in person, the zoom link will be a backup option.

How much are coachings?

$100 drop-in coaching

$80 new student first-time coaching

$350 package of 4 coachings

How do I pay?

I accept Venmo, Zelle, and Paypal, and can also generate invoices to pay by credit card upon request. Info found on booking links.

What are your values as a teacher?

My job is to listen, give you effective tools, and open your minds and voices to the options available to you when singing.

Singing that is healthy, feels good, and is free from unnecessary tension is your best foundation for expression.

You are your own best teacher and your best work happens in the practice room.

Singing is a spiritual path and doesn’t require a performance or career goal to be worth practicing.

I am not in competition with you or with any other teachers or coaches. Study with whomever works best for you as often as you like!

Let’s build a practice that eliminates subjective judgment (internal and external) from the equation and focuses instead on effective and joyful process.

What can I expect at Studio Classes?

Classes will be a combination of masterclass-style singing/technical work with me as well as dramatic/body work. Please come prepared to work on at least one piece. You are also welcome to come and not sing. Pianist is provided. Please reserve your spot online in advance, and “pay-what-you-can” when you get there. A recommended $25 contributes to room rental and personnel. Feel free to capture video recordings at Studio Classes!

Come to any and all classes!

How do I schedule my recording session?

  • Recording sessions are to be organized on your own terms and booked on your own at nvfactory.com. As of this writing, there are plenty of slots available that week, but I recommend you reserve an hour ASAP as they are getting booked up quickly.

  • NV Factory charges $280 for a one hour session with two cameras ($200 for one camera) and an audio engineer. Book your recording time online, and let me know if you wish to find someone to split the time with you (I will help you pair with an appropriate voice type since they don’t change settings mid-session).

  • Some of you already have a pianist you prefer to work with, but if you would like me to recommend one, I will help you. You will need to pay your pianist separately.

  • If you book your recording session outside of the voice lesson and studio class blocks, I will try to attend your recording session for support, if you wish.

  • You do not need to pre-pay to reserve a slot, and I believe the cancellation policy is quite flexible, so BOOK NOW!

  • This is completely optional, and if you’d like to organize a recording session somewhere else, let me know how I can support you.
